I met Ashwani , for the first time in 1991 and have been in touch with him for the past 21 years. I haven’t in my 54 years of existence met anyone quite like him. Inspite of me being his guru I have often wished “ that I could have been his student”. It is highly unlikely that any guru may have wished so of his own student. Born in a middle class family in delhi, Ashwani was interested in many subjects right from his childhood. Not only was he a keen student in academics but was also actively involved in sports, art, music and science. Before topping his school in 12th standard, he also had topped his school in the previous five years. From his tenth standard to finance his studies, he undertook many odds jobs. During his twelfth standard education, while helping his friend with his studies, he picked up drawing as his main subject. Since then there has been no looking back.
Ashwani with 12 year degree/diploma certification in arts is the recipient of many awards. Both internationally and nationally his artworks are prized possessions of various eminent art collectors. These have also been exhibited worldwide. He has been repeatedly spoken of and his art written about in media around the world.
